What did we do in Finland?

During the autumn season 2017 the group of 15 finnish students started to learn about the phenomenon immigration in Finland. A pastor from local parish visited Lyseo and told about the many reasons for immigration, asylum seeking being only one of them. Later on there was a visit to Navigaattori, a help center for immigrants in Savonlinna. The students got to know a lot about immigration situation locally and the laws and regulations concerning immigration in Finland.

In the beginning of November the students visited Savonlinna Christian Institute and met the immigrant students for the first time. A group discussion was arranged in order to get to know each other. The immigrant students also got an opportunity to practise Finnish language in live situation. The finnish students also made online portfolios and added there reports about the visits in English.

During the regular meetings students both in Finland and in Lithuania prepared presentations about their home towns and countries.
